We had a good amount of sunshine today with highs reaching the lower 70s in the Metro! We will have another day with sunshine Friday, but after that all bets are off! Heavy rain is possible this holiday weekend!
As for tonight, we will be clear, cool and rather calm with maybe some patchy fog possible is some locations. Lows will drop into the 40s for most but some upper 30s are possible in NE Iowa! We will start Friday with sunshine but end with clouds as our next weather system begins to influence our weather.
Our rain chances will start up Friday night and stay with us at least through Tuesday of next week. I am expecting some areas of some locally heavy rain and thunderstorms will be developing in pretty regular intervals over just about anywhere in Iowa. Some locations could receive more than 4" of rain before the long weekend is over.
It does look like Memorial Day will be the warmest of the three and have the lowest chance for rain, but I still do expect some areas in Iowa to have storms on Monday. The weather should begin to dry out and warm up generally into next week.
With all this rain this weekend, there might be a lot of campers playing cards this weekend inside their campers! But that is still better than not camping, right?
Have a good night!
