As expected we had a cool and cloudy day Wednesday with a few light showers. Those showers will be moving out for the most part this evening for central Iowa, but the clouds are likely to stick around into part of Thursday morning.
Temps will drop to near 50° in the Metro to start the day Thursday, but with the help of some afternoon sunshine, I expect we can push back up close to 70° for a high temp. Temps Friday will be about the same with a cool morning and a nice afternoon.
Our break from the wet weather may come to an end by Friday night with at least a slight chance for some showers/storms entering the picture. Our best chances for rain just happen to fall on the entire three day weekend! Sorry campers and outdoor enthusiasts... But I don't think it will rain ALL the time, but I do expect some heavier rain with some rather large storms possible off and on through the weekend. Some areas could easily get more than 2" of rain and hail will also be possible with some of the storms.
With clouds and rain around, temps will stay in the low to mid 70s this weekend. Slightly drier and warmer weather will prevail into next week with temps climbing back into the upper 80s.
Have a good one!
