Things are settling down in the weather across the nation today. For us Iowans, that means a cooler day with some light rain showers drifting across the state!
Highs will be much cooler under the clouds. Highs should be around or before noon as chilly air works in this afternoon. Light rain showers are likely, especially north of I-80 this afternoon. Expect rainfall amounts of around a tenth of an inch or less.
Tomorrow will be a better day with highs in the 60s and 70s. We'll still see morning clouds and showers, but the afternoon will be dry and comfortable.
Friday may be the best day of the next 7! Dry Canadian air will make it feel cool in the morning and nice in the afternoon sun. Showers and storms will develop in western Iowa during the evening hours and that trend will continue into the weekend. At this point severe weather seems possible, but not likely on Saturday. We'll keep tracking that storm as it approaches your holiday weekend plans.
Have a great Wednesday!
