A local company known for family friendly comedy shows is putting on new events.  Teamstrong Inc held its first Old School/New School Skate Party at Skate North in Des Moines Sunday.

John Martin skated around the rink with his daughter Jania.  He started team strong two years ago after he felt there was a need for more family friendly events in Des Moines.

What started with just an idea turned into numerous Des Moines comedy shows with stars from Second City in Chicago.

Hundreds of people showed up to Skate North to empower family ideals and to just have a good time.

"When I was growing up all, of my friends, we were all there, but a lot of fathers were missing.  If we're going to go anywhere the foundation has to be set with our family.  It's about families coming together and doing fun things, doing fun activities like this," says John Martin, CEO of Teamstrong Inc.

Teamstrong Inc has its next family friendly comedy show this Friday.  Information and tickets are on their website.
