An after Thanksgiving tradition for many families is to go find that perfect Christmas tree.

To get one, you can head to a tree farm or a store or you can find one of the many tree lots next to churches and community organizations.

You can get Christmas trees several places around the metro.

But if you come to the parking lot on the corner of Franklin and Beaver Avenue, your money will go to a special cause.

Teenagers Jake and Jackie go to Westminster Presbyterian and they're selling Christmas trees.

They work three hours a shift, four times a month so they can just do more work.

This is a fundraiser for their next summer mission trip.

The trees sell between $30 and $75 depending on what tree you want.

But the fresh cut, where they trim off the bottom, is free.

Each have different hopes on where they want to go for the mission trip.

Jake wants to go to a third world country, and Jackie...

"To the east coast, to Maine or New York where they just got hit by Sandy cause that's like a big deal and if something like that happened here in Iowa - with a tornado or something - I would want someone to be here to help me get back on my feet," says Jackie Henry, a student at Hoover High School.

If you want to have that Christmas tree smell but don't have room for a whole tree, you can get just a branch for a donation of $5
