Paul Rhoads announced today that senior linebacker Jake Knott will miss the remainder of the season. Knott is scheduled for shoulder surgery later today in Chicago.
Knott's mom, Laura tells ABC5 her son reinjured his shoulder during the Oklahoma St. game on October 20th. After consulting with three surgeons last week it was determined Knott could play vs. Baylor and not do any further damage to his shoulder.
He was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week today for his performance vs. Baylor.
Knott opted to have season ending surgery to get prepared for his future. The rehab process is expected to take two to three months. The goal is to be healthy enough to participate in the NFL Combine if he is invited.
