After a wild ride yesterday evening, this morning will start off quietly in central Iowa.
Many Iowans are waking up to wind damage after yesterday's storms. The National Weather Service will be conducting a damage survey to determine if some of the damage was due to tornadoes. If confirmed, we will indeed end the nearly year-long streak of tornado-less days in Iowa. More info here: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/news/display_cmsstory.php?wfo=dmx&storyid=94717&source=0
Today will be another stormy day, but we'll start off with nice weather and temps around 60. Highs will push into the upper 70s and low 80s and the storm clouds will again begin to build after 3pm. The best chances for storms will be east of the Metro, along and east of I-35. Hail, wind and an isolated tornado is possible with these storms.
Tonight we'll quiet down with lows in the upper 50s. Tuesday looks like a fantastic day to recover after this stormy stretch. Highs will push into the mid 70s with dry air and a comfortable breeze! Rain chances move back into the forecast for Wednesday, but it looks like a very light rain event.
We'll be mainly dry and nice to end the work-week, but it looks like our holiday weekend could be bumpy!
Have a great day!
