We have the weather's equivalent of the Autobahn today with the speeding traffic being winds carrying Canadian air. We'll be feeling those winds gust up to 35 mph in the Metro, but north of US-20 those gusts could hit 45 mph. There is a wind advisory out for the northern couple of tiers of Iowa counties until early this evening.
That wind will hold highs down into the 60s and 70s for us today. That will also set up a cool night with nearly everyone dropping into the 40s. Temperatures will recover back into the low to mid-70s for many of us on Saturday.
Sunday a southerly wind will start to pick back up, but it will only be able to boost temperatures into the upper-70s and low-80s. Monday will be warmer, but it won't be muggy at all.
From there our attention turns to a series of waves that could touch off some spotty showers on Tuesday & Wednesday. A few of those may have some lightning. Higher chances for rain show up on Thursday of next week.
Have a good Friday!
